  • 12 pieces fresh jalapeño peppers Choose firm jalapeños for the best texture.
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese You can substitute with pepper jack for spice.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder For enhanced flavor.
  • 1 tsp onion powder Adds depth to the filling.
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper Freshly ground is best.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Carefully slice each jalapeño in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until smooth.
  4. Spoon the cheese mixture generously into each jalapeño half.
Baking
  1. Place the filled jalapeños on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Roast in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, until jalapeños are tender and cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.
  3. Allow the poppers to cool for a minute before serving.
Serving
  1. Serve hot, optionally with dipping sauces like tangy ranch or creamy avocado.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze and enjoy within 1-2 months. Reheat at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes.
