  • 8 oz spaghetti Use your preferred pasta type
Main Ingredients
  • 1 can corned beef Crumble before adding to the skillet
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce Can substitute with crushed tomatoes if needed
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar To balance the acidity of the tomato sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions for garnish Optional but recommended for freshness

Preparation
  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions. Once done, drain the pasta and set it aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add some oil. Sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until they are fragrant and translucent.
Cooking
  1. Next, crumble the corned beef into the skillet and cook until it’s nicely browned, stirring occasionally.
  2. Pour in the tomato sauce and soy sauce, and sprinkle in the sugar. Stir the mixture to combine, seasoning it with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Add the cooked spaghetti to the sauce, tossing everything together until the spaghetti is well-coated. Heat for an additional couple of minutes.
  4. Plate your delicious creation! Garnish with chopped green onions to add a burst of freshness.

Notes

Opt for fresh corned beef from the deli for enhanced flavor and texture. If you’re out of tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes or homemade sauce works perfectly. Taste as you go to adjust seasonings to your liking.
