Ingredients

For the Flan
  • 1 cup brewed coffee Use high-quality coffee for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup sugar This is for the caramel base.
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 4 large eggs Use fresh eggs for the best texture.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Method

Preparation
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar until it turns into a golden caramel. Work quickly to pour it into a round flan mold, tilting the mold to cover the base evenly.
  2. In a blender, combine the brewed coffee, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Blend until you achieve a smooth mixture.
  3. Carefully pour the coffee mixture over the caramel in the flan mold.
  4. Place the mold in a baking dish filled with water (this creates a water bath), and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 60-70 minutes, or until set.
  5. Allow the flan to cool to room temperature before refrigerating for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Serving
  1. When ready to serve, run a knife around the edges of the flan, invert it onto a serving plate, and enjoy!

Notes

Allow the flan to cool completely before refrigerating to achieve the perfect texture. Pairs beautifully with fresh berries, whipped cream, or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
