- In a large, heavy-bottomed pot, place the coconut oil over medium heat. Allow it to fully melt.
- Add 2-3 popcorn kernels to the pot. When they pop, you know the oil is ready.
- Once the test kernels pop, carefully add the rest of the popcorn kernels and cover the pot with a lid.
- As the popcorn begins to pop, gently shake the pot back and forth every few seconds to prevent burning.
- Listen for the popping sound! When the pops start to slow down (about 2-3 seconds between pops), remove the pot from heat.
- Carefully lift the lid and sprinkle in the salt to your taste. Stir or shake to coat the popcorn evenly.
- Serve immediately in a large bowl and enjoy!
Notes
Experiment with flavors by adding spices like paprika or nutritional yeast. Store leftover popcorn in an airtight container for up to 2 days to maintain its crunch.
