  • 1 large ripe tomato, sliced Choose in-season tomatoes for the best flavor.

  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise Adjust the amount as desired.
  • Fresh basil leaves (optional) For added flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by toasting your slices of bread if you prefer a crispy texture.
  2. Generously spread mayonnaise on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place your sliced tomato on one of the bread slices.
  4. Sprinkle a little salt and pepper over the tomatoes.
  5. For an extra flavor boost, add fresh basil leaves on top of the tomatoes.
  6. Place the second slice of bread on top, mayonnaise side down, and cut your sandwich in half.

Notes
