  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix-ins
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips check for Halal certification
  • 1 cup chopped nuts optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract until well-combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  5. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and chopped nuts (if using).
  6. Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded balls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 9-11 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges but still soft in the center.
  2. Let them cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for about 30 minutes before baking. Use high-quality chocolate for better taste. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week or freeze for up to 3 months.
