Ingredients
  

For the meatballs
  • 1 pound ground beef (or a combination of beef and veal) Use a mix for a richer flavor.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs Use fresh or dried based on preference.
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese Freshly grated for better flavor.
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped Fresh parsley enhances flavor.
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano Or use Italian seasoning if preferred.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper Freshly ground for best flavor.
  • 1 large egg Acts as a binder.
  • 1/4 cup milk Adjust for texture.
  • to taste Marinara sauce (for serving) Optional, for serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, egg, and milk. Mix the ingredients until just combined.
  3. With damp hands, shape the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter, and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Cooking
  1. Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
  2. While the meatballs are baking, warm your marinara sauce on the stovetop.
  3. Once the meatballs are cooked, serve them in the sauce atop pasta or in a sub, garnished with extra Parmesan and parsley if desired.

Notes

Store in an airtight container with marinara sauce for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
