Cookie Dough Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened Halal-certified butter can be used.
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Ensure they are Halal-certified.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) while you prepare the dough.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until creamy (approx. 2 minutes).
  4. Add the vanilla extract and eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula.
  7. Scoop tablespoons of cookie dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 9-11 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  2. Remove from the oven and allow to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. Consider adding nuts or a sprinkle of sea salt for added flavor.
