Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) while you prepare the dough.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until creamy (approx. 2 minutes).
- Add the vanilla extract and eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula.
- Scoop tablespoons of cookie dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 9-11 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For thicker cookies, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. Consider adding nuts or a sprinkle of sea salt for added flavor.
