  • 1.5 pounds Ground beef (80/20) Well-balanced fat content for flavor
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs For texture and binding
  • 2 large Eggs Acts as a binder
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped Adds flavor and moisture
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced Enhances depth of flavor
  • 0.5 cup Ketchup For moisture and tang
  • 0.5 cup Milk Adds richness
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (Halal version) For seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Salt To taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper Adds a mild heat
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano For herbaceous notes
  • 2 tablespoons Parsley, chopped For garnish

Preparation
  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, eggs, ketchup, and milk. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and oregano. Mix until just combined.
  3. Shape the Loaf: Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and shape it into a loaf. Smooth out the top and sides.
  4. Topping: Spread a thin layer of ketchup over the top for added flavor.
  5. Bake: Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for about 60 minutes or until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
  6. Rest and Serve: Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Store leftover meatloaf tightly wrapped in plastic or in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days. To freeze, slice before placing in freezer bags and use within 3 months.
