- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. Stir in the melted butter.
- Mix in the baking soda and salt. Then add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- Gently fold in the flour until you no longer see any dry bits; be careful not to overmix!
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven, let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!
Notes
To keep your banana bread fresh, wrap it in plastic wrap and store it at room temperature for up to 4 days. For longer storage, slice and freeze in a zip-top bag for up to 3 months. Reheat slices in the microwave or toaster.
