Preparation
- In a bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5–10 minutes until it bubbles up.
- In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture and mix until a dough forms. Knead for 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise for about 30 minutes until doubled in size.
Cooking
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it into ropes, then cut into bite-sized pieces.
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil, adding baking soda. Carefully drop in the pretzel bites (in batches) for about 30 seconds, then remove.
- Transfer bites to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush with melted butter, and bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
- While warm, toss the baked bites in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
Serving
- Enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce or on their own.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container. They stay fresh for about 2-3 days at room temperature or up to a week in the fridge. For longer storage, freeze them for up to a month.
