Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a medium saucepan, combine the water, unsalted butter, and salt over medium heat. Stir until the mixture comes to a boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in the all-purpose flour, sugar, cinnamon, and baking powder until well combined. Fold in the vanilla extract after forming a cohesive dough.
- Allow the dough to cool slightly before transferring it to a piping bag or a ziplock bag with a corner cut off.
Baking
- Pipe small bite-sized pieces onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the churro bites are golden brown.
Coating and Serving
- Mix 1/4 cup sugar with 1 teaspoon cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
- Once baked, let the churro bites cool slightly, then toss them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until evenly coated. Serve warm.
Notes
These churro bites are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. They can also be frozen for up to 2 months. To reheat, bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5 to 7 minutes.
