Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 whole ripe pineapple, peeled and sliced into rings Ensure the pineapple is ripe for the best flavor.
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter For frying the pineapple.
Optional serving suggestion
  • 1 scoop vanilla ice cream Perfect for serving with the fried pineapple.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by carefully cutting the fresh pineapple into rings, about ½ inch thick for even frying.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and ground cinnamon, mixing well until fully combined.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat until it’s bubbly and slightly foamy.
  2. Add the pineapple rings to the skillet, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until beautifully caramelized.
  3. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the pineapple during the last minute of cooking, allowing it to melt and coat the fruit.
  4. Once the pineapple is golden and sticky, remove it from the heat.
  5. Serve warm, either on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent treat.

Notes

Keep the following tips in mind: Use ripe pineapple for the best taste, do not overcrowd the pan, and feel free to experiment with spices like nutmeg or cayenne for a twist.
