  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk Can be substituted with almond milk or yogurt.
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon sugar For topping
  • 1 cup icing (powdered sugar + milk) Optional for serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
Baking
  1. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar on top.
  2. Add the remaining batter and sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon sugar on top.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  4. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Drizzle with icing if desired before serving!

Notes

Leftover Cinnamon Donut Bread can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 days, refrigerated for up to a week, or frozen for up to three months. To reheat, slice and warm in the microwave for 20-30 seconds or toast for a few minutes.
