Ingredients
  

Base and Topping
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Don't skip this for the signature warm flavor.
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Can be chilled for a flakier topping.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Filling
  • 2 cups mixed dried fruits (like cranberries and raisins)
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional) For an extra treat.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Cut in the softened butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Press half of the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan to create the base.
  5. Evenly distribute the mixed dried fruits over the crust, making sure to cover it well.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining crumble mixture over the top of the fruits.
  7. If desired, scatter white chocolate chips over the crumble topping.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  2. Allow to cool in the pan, then cut into bars and serve.

Notes

For extra festive flavors, pair with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Watch baking time closely, as ovens can vary.
