Chocolate Streusel Cake: A Decadent Delight Awaits!

Ingredients
  

  • 150 g soft butter
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 egg size M
  • 3 tbsp baking cocoa
  • 250 g flour type 405
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Some butter for the mold
  • 1 jar of morello cherries drained weight 350g

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and butter a baking pan to prevent the cake from sticking.
  • Prepare the dough: In a mixing bowl, cream together the soft butter and sugar until light and fluffy. You want a lovely, airy texture!
  • Add the egg: Beat in the egg until well incorporated.
  • Combine dry ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking cocoa, and salt.
  • Mix it all together: Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined. Don’t overmix; a little lumpiness is okay!
  • Set aside: Take about one third of the dough and set it aside to make the streusel topping later.
  • Assemble the cake: Press the remaining dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan, creating a base.
  • Add cherries: Spread the drained morello cherries over the dough, ensuring they’re evenly distributed for that fruity flavor punch.
  • Create the topping: Crumble the reserved dough over the cherries to create a streusel topping.
  • Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for about 30-35 minutes. You’ll know it’s done when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cool and serve: Allow the cake to cool before slicing and serving to enjoy your lovely creation!
