Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup chocolate protein powder
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup sweetener (e.g., stevia or erythritol)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and line an 8-inch round cake pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate protein powder, almond flour, cocoa powder, sweetener, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until well blended.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, then add the applesauce, almond milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until combined.
  4. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until a lump-free batter forms.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For ingredient substitutions, consider using coconut flour instead of almond flour, but adjust liquid accordingly. Monitor baking closely during the final minutes and avoid overmixing the batter.
