Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter Ensure it's creamy for a smooth frosting.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Butter should be at room temperature.
  • 2 cups powdered sugar Sift to avoid clumps.
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder Use unsweetened for best results.
  • 1/4 cup milk Add more if needed for desired consistency.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Pure vanilla will enhance flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter and creamy peanut butter. Use an electric mixer on medium speed to blend until fully smooth and creamy.
  2. Gradually sift in the powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Mix on low speed to avoid a sugar cloud. Slowly increase the speed until the mixture begins to combine.
  3. Add the milk and vanilla extract. Mix until the frosting reaches a smooth, spreadable consistency. Adjust thickness as needed.
  4. Taste your frosting and adjust sweetness or richness by adding more powdered sugar or peanut butter if desired.
  5. Frost your treats, such as cupcakes, cakes, or cookies, as preferred.

Notes

For a lighter version, consider using reduced-fat peanut butter or almond milk. Frosting is best used fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week or frozen for three months.
