Ingredients

For the Pie
  • 1 piece pre-made pie crust store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup peanut butter or any nut butter of your choice
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract ensure it’s alcohol-free
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. If using a pre-made crust, place it in a pie plate. If making from scratch, roll out your dough to fit the pie plate.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, cocoa powder, flour, and salt until well blended.
  4. Scoop in the peanut butter and mix into the dry ingredients to create a thick paste.
  5. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and evaporated milk one at a time, stirring until you achieve a smooth consistency.
  6. Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust, smoothing it out with a spatula.
Baking
  1. Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, until the edges look set and the center is slightly wobbly.
  2. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For a nut-free version, substitute peanut butter with almond butter or sunflower seed butter. Ensure to cool the pie completely before serving for best flavor. Avoid overbaking; the center should jiggle slightly.
