Preparation
- Wash the apples thoroughly. Dry them with a paper towel and cut them into even slices, about 1/2 inch thick. If using lollipop sticks, pierce each slice with a stick and set aside.
Melt Caramel
- In a medium-sized microwavable bowl, pour the caramel sauce. Heat it in the microwave for about 30 seconds, stir, and repeat until smooth and melted.
Coat the Apple Slices
- Take each apple slice and dip it into the melted caramel, ensuring that it’s well-coated. Allow excess caramel to drip off before laying the slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Chill the Caramel Coating
- Place the apple slices in the refrigerator for about 10-15 minutes to let the caramel set.
Melt the Chocolate
- Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring in between until fully melted.
Dip in Chocolate
- Remove the apple slices from the refrigerator and dip each caramel-coated slice into the melted chocolate. Allow excess chocolate to drip off.
Add Toppings
- Sprinkle with your choice of toppings while the chocolate is still wet for a fun and colorful finish.
Set the Chocolate
- Return the apple slices to the parchment paper and allow the chocolate to set at room temperature or place them in the refrigerator for faster results.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days. Avoid reheating to maintain texture and flavor.
