  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Additional Ingredients
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 3/4 cups boiling water

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish lightly with a bit of butter.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  4. Pour in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until you have a smooth batter.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips for an extra chocolatey flavor.
  6. Spread the batter evenly into your prepared baking dish.
  7. Carefully pour the boiling water over the batter. Do not stir!
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the top is set but the center is gooey.
  2. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm with your favorite toppings!

Notes

Substitutions: Use almond or coconut milk instead of regular milk for a twist. Avoid using cold ingredients for the best texture. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to four days or frozen for longer storage. Reheat in the microwave or oven.
