Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Butter should be at room temperature.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs Add eggs one at a time.
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour Sift before measuring.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate) Choose your preferred type.
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract together until creamy and smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
Mixing
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet mixture and mix until combined.
  2. Gently fold in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts.
Baking
  1. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  2. Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden on the edges.
  3. Allow to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

Chill the dough for thicker cookies. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to one week or freeze for up to three months.
