  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can be heat-treated to eliminate risks associated with raw flour.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Feel free to substitute with other mix-ins.

Preparation
  1. Prepare an 8×8 inch baking pan by lining the bottom with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until fluffy and well combined.
  3. Gradually mix in the all-purpose flour and salt, beating just until combined.
  4. Incorporate the vanilla extract for added flavor.
  5. Gently fold the chocolate chips into the dough.
  6. Spread the cookie dough mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan, pressing down firmly.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set properly.
  8. Once set, remove from the fridge and cut into squares.

Notes

For best results, use heat-treated flour. Customize your mix-ins as desired, and reduce sugar for less sweetness. Store in an airtight container for up to one week, or freeze for up to three months.
