Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas and melted butter. Stir until well mixed.
- Add the granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla extract to the banana mixture. Stir to combine.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture until just combined. Don’t overmix!
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- In a small bowl, mix together the ground cinnamon and brown sugar.
- Pour half of the banana bread batter into the prepared loaf pan, sprinkle half of the cinnamon mixture, and then pour the remaining batter on top. Finish by sprinkling the rest of the cinnamon mixture.
- Use a knife to gently swirl the cinnamon mixture into the batter.
Baking
- Bake for about 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
Store wrapped tightly in plastic wrap for up to 4 days at room temperature or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave for 15-20 seconds or toast for a warm treat.
