Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed The riper the bananas, the sweeter your bread will be.
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda Sprinkle over the mixture.
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar Adjust based on your sweetness preference.
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour Be careful not to overmix!
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Add more if you're feeling indulgent.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 4x8-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth, then stir in the melted butter.
  3. Mix in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture, and gently mix in the flour until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
  5. Add the chocolate chips to the batter and fold them in gently.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for about 60-65 minutes. It's done when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice, enjoy, and share (or not!).
