Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 4x8-inch loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth, then stir in the melted butter.
- Mix in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until combined.
- Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture, and gently mix in the flour until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
- Add the chocolate chips to the batter and fold them in gently.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for about 60-65 minutes. It's done when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice, enjoy, and share (or not!).
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2-3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight and reheat slices in the microwave.
