Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • - Whisk or hand mixer
  • - 9x13-inch baking pan
  • Parchment paper
  • Spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • - 2 large ripe bananas mashed
  • - 1/2 cup 115g unsalted butter, melted
  • - 3/4 cup 150g granulated sugar
  • - 1/2 cup 100g light brown sugar, packed
  • - 2 large eggs
  • - 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • - 1 3/4 cups 220g all-purpose flour
  • - 1 tsp baking powder
  • - 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • - 1/2 tsp salt
  • - 1 cup 175g semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • **Preheat Oven:** Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
  • **Mix Wet Ingredients:** In a large bowl, whisk together the mashed bananas, melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • **Combine Dry Ingredients:** In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • **Add Chocolate Chips:** Fold in the chocolate chips, reserving a handful to sprinkle on top.
  • **Bake:** Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the reserved chocolate chips on top. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  • **Cool and Serve:** Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before lifting them out using the parchment paper. Slice into squares and enjoy!
