Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, and mix until well integrated.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips and caramel bits, ensuring even distribution throughout the dough.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dollops of the dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Baking
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 3 months. For a vegan version, replace butter with coconut oil and use flax eggs.
