Ingredients
  

For the cookie dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure it is at room temperature.
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour Can be substituted with gluten-free flour.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Can be substituted with dairy-free chocolate chips.
  • 1 cup caramel bits Can be substituted with dairy-free caramel bits.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, and mix until well integrated.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips and caramel bits, ensuring even distribution throughout the dough.
  6. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dollops of the dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Baking
  1. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  2. Allow the cookies to cool on the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 3 months. For a vegan version, replace butter with coconut oil and use flax eggs.
