  • 4 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips or nuts (optional) For added texture

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Whisk until smooth, then add in the eggs and vanilla extract. Mix until fully combined.
  3. Slowly add in the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Mix until just combined. Do not over-mix.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if desired.
Baking
  1. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  2. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cooling and Serving
  1. Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
  2. Transfer to a wire rack and allow to cool completely before serving.

Notes

Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for about 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave for 10 to 15 seconds.
