- Wash your cabbage thoroughly and chop it into bite-sized pieces. Mince the garlic and set it aside.
Cooking
- In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers but does not smoke.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Toss the chopped cabbage into the skillet and stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until it is tender but still has some crunch.
- Drizzle in the soy sauce and, if using, the oyster sauce, stirring well to coat the cabbage evenly.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
If you're looking for vegan options, mushroom soy sauce can substitute the oyster sauce while keeping it halal. Avoid overcrowding your pan when stir-frying for best results. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
