  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Freshly minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce Regular or low sodium, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce Optional, check for halal compliance
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation
  1. Wash your cabbage thoroughly and chop it into bite-sized pieces. Mince the garlic and set it aside.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers but does not smoke.
  2. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  3. Toss the chopped cabbage into the skillet and stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until it is tender but still has some crunch.
  4. Drizzle in the soy sauce and, if using, the oyster sauce, stirring well to coat the cabbage evenly.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

If you're looking for vegan options, mushroom soy sauce can substitute the oyster sauce while keeping it halal. Avoid overcrowding your pan when stir-frying for best results. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
