  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey) can substitute with plant-based alternative for vegetarian option
  • 1 can (15 oz) chili beans drained
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 bag (28 oz) frozen tater tots for topping
  • 1 cup sour cream

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat; drain any excess grease.
  3. Stir in the chili beans, diced tomatoes, and taco seasoning. Mix well and let it heat through for about 5 minutes.
  4. Transfer the chili mix into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  5. Dollop sour cream over the chili mixture, spreading it gently.
  6. Sprinkle over the shredded cheese evenly.
  7. Top with frozen tater tots, laying them out in rows to cover the cheese.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is bubbly.
  2. Let it cool slightly before serving. Garnish with optional toppings if desired.

Notes

Refrigerate leftovers for 3-4 days or freeze for 2-3 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes or microwave individual servings.
