Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 large burrito tortilla Use a soft tortilla for easy wrapping.
  • 1/2 cup chili Ensure it’s a Halal-friendly variety.
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese Use any cheese of your choice.
  • 1/4 cup diced onions Freshly diced for crunch.
  • 1/4 cup sour cream Optional for topping.
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce Optional for extra spice.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by warming up your Halal-friendly chili in a saucepan over medium heat until hot and bubbly.
  2. In a separate pan or microwave, warm your large burrito tortilla to make it easier to wrap.
  3. Spread the warm chili in the center of the tortilla and add shredded cheese on top while the chili is hot to allow the cheese to melt.
  4. Sprinkle the diced onions over the cheese, drizzle with hot sauce, and add a dollop of sour cream.
  5. Fold in the sides of the tortilla and then roll from the bottom up to securely encase the fillings.
  6. For a crispy burrito, toast it briefly in a pan until golden brown on both sides.

Notes

To keep fresh, refrigerate within two hours. Lasts 3-4 days in the fridge, or freeze wrapped tightly for longer storage. Reheat in microwave for 2-3 minutes or oven at 350°F for 15-20 minutes for best texture.
