Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken Make sure it's Halal-compliant.
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 pieces green onions, chopped
  • 1 cup coleslaw mix
For assembling and frying
  • 1 package wonton wrappers
  • to taste Sriracha or your preferred sauce for serving

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine the ground chicken, soy sauce, sesame oil, and chopped green onions. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. In a pan over medium heat, lightly sauté the coleslaw mix for about 2-3 minutes until it softens slightly.
Assembly
  1. Take a wonton wrapper and place about a tablespoon of the chicken mixture in the center. Moisten the edges with water and fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle. Press the edges firmly to seal.
Cooking
  1. In a deep skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Carefully add the wontons, a few at a time, frying until they are golden brown and crispy (about 3-4 minutes). Use a slotted spoon to remove them and let them drain on paper towels.
  2. Serve your Chicken Wonton Tacos hot with a side of Sriracha or your preferred dipping sauce.

Notes

For a vegetarian alternative, consider using plant-based ground meat. Make sure your oil is hot enough before frying.
