Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Lightly brush each wonton wrapper with olive oil on both sides.
- Gently press each wonton wrapper into a muffin tin, creating little cups for your filling.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan, and Italian seasoning. Stir well until all ingredients are evenly coated.
- Spoon the chicken mixture into each wonton cup, making sure to fill them generously.
- Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes or until the wontons are crispy and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Once done, remove from the oven and let them cool for a minute before serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
Notes
If you don’t have cooked chicken on hand, rotisserie chicken works wonderfully! You can also use turkey for a lighter option. Be careful not to overfill the wonton cups to avoid losing their shape in the oven. To ensure even cooking, rotate your muffin tin halfway through baking. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Reheat in a toaster oven or regular oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
