Ingredients

For the Chicken Fries
  • 1 pound chicken breasts, cut into fry-shaped strips
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Cooking oil (for frying) About half an inch deep in the skillet

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by cutting the chicken breasts into fry-sized strips and set aside.
Set Up the Breading Station
  1. Create three bowls—one for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Coat the Chicken
  1. Dredge each chicken strip in flour, shaking off the excess. Dip it into the beaten eggs, ensuring it's fully coated, and finally coat it with the breadcrumb mixture.
Heat the Oil
  1. In a large skillet, add enough cooking oil for frying (about half an inch deep) and heat over medium-high heat.
Fry the Chicken
  1. Once the oil is shimmering, carefully add the chicken strips, cooking in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Drain and Serve
  1. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the Chicken Fries to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil. Serve warm with your favorite dips!

Notes

For extra crunch, consider using panko breadcrumbs. Ensure the oil is hot enough before adding the chicken. Adjust seasonings in the breadcrumb mixture to catch your taste.
