Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 1.5 cups cooked chicken, shredded Use rotisserie chicken for a quicker option.
  • 1 cup Alfredo sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For brushing the calzones.
Dough
  • 1 package pizza dough Store-bought or homemade.
  • to taste Italian seasoning For additional flavor.
  • to taste Salt and pepper For seasoning the filling.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, mix the shredded chicken, Alfredo sauce, shredded mozzarella cheese, and a pinch of Italian seasoning. Stir until thoroughly combined, then set aside.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into circles about ¼ inch thick. You should be able to get about 4-6 circles.
Assembling
  1. Place a generous amount of the chicken Alfredo filling on one half of each dough circle. Leave some space around the edges.
  2. Fold the dough over and pinch the edges to seal. Use a fork to create a decorative edge if desired.
Cooking
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. Brush the tops of the calzones with olive oil and place them in the preheated air fryer basket.
  3. Cook for approximately 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
Serving
  1. Once cooked, remove the calzones from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. Pair with side salad or marinara sauce.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in air fryer for best results.
