Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth and well combined.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until everything is well blended.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring just until combined—don’t overmix!
  6. Stir in butterscotch chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  7. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Let the bars cool completely in the pan before slicing them into squares.

Notes

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or pair with chilled milk or coffee for a perfect treat. For best results, use room temperature ingredients and avoid overbaking.
