Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease it lightly.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until well blended.
  4. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
  5. Gently fold in the cherries and chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  6. Spoon the batter evenly into the prepared muffin cups, filling them about two-thirds full.
Baking
  1. Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 18-22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
  2. Let the muffins cool in the tin for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
