Ingredients

  • For the Brownie Layer:
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • For the Cheesecake Layer:
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup cherry pie filling

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Prepare the Brownie Base:
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  • Beat in cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder until well combined. Pour the brownie batter into a greased 9x9-inch baking dish.
  • Create the Cheesecake Mixture:
  • In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth and creamy.
  • Layer the Mixtures:
  • Pour the cheesecake mixture over the brownie batter in the baking dish. Drop spoonfuls of cherry pie filling on top and use a knife to swirl them into the cheesecake mixture.
  • Bake:
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes. A toothpick should come out with moist crumbs, not wet batter. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
