Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, approximately 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the sliced bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5-6 minutes.
- Reduce the heat to low, and mix in the cream cheese, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until everything is well combined and melted down into a creamy mixture.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish. Sprinkle shredded provolone cheese over the top, spreading it evenly.
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Remove the casserole from the oven and allow it to rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For substitutions, ensure the ground beef is certified Halal. You can swap out the provolone for other cheeses like mozzarella or cheddar for a twist. Store leftover casserole in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days, or freeze for up to two months.
