Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef (preferably Halal)
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup cream cheese
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, approximately 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the sliced bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5-6 minutes.
  4. Reduce the heat to low, and mix in the cream cheese, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until everything is well combined and melted down into a creamy mixture.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish. Sprinkle shredded provolone cheese over the top, spreading it evenly.
  6. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Remove the casserole from the oven and allow it to rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For substitutions, ensure the ground beef is certified Halal. You can swap out the provolone for other cheeses like mozzarella or cheddar for a twist. Store leftover casserole in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days, or freeze for up to two months.
