Ingredients

Dough Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
Filling Ingredients
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Method

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and sugar. Stir until dissolved, then sprinkle the yeast on top. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until bubbly and frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center, then pour in the yeast mixture and melted butter. Stir until combined.
  3. Once a shaggy dough forms, transfer it to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, add a sprinkle of flour as needed.
  4. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  5. While the dough is rising, mix the shredded cheese, minced garlic, and chopped parsley in a small bowl.
  6. Once risen, gently punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Sprinkle the cheese mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  8. Starting from one long side, tightly roll the dough into a log. Pinch the seam to seal and slice into equal pieces.
  9. Place the slices in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for an additional 15-20 minutes while preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Once baked, let the rolls cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm!

Notes

For the best flavor, you can mix and match your cheeses. Ensure your dough rises in a warm, draft-free environment.
