Preparation
- In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and sugar. Stir until dissolved, then sprinkle the yeast on top. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until bubbly and frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center, then pour in the yeast mixture and melted butter. Stir until combined.
- Once a shaggy dough forms, transfer it to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, add a sprinkle of flour as needed.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
- While the dough is rising, mix the shredded cheese, minced garlic, and chopped parsley in a small bowl.
- Once risen, gently punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- Sprinkle the cheese mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Starting from one long side, tightly roll the dough into a log. Pinch the seam to seal and slice into equal pieces.
- Place the slices in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for an additional 15-20 minutes while preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Once baked, let the rolls cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm!
Notes
For the best flavor, you can mix and match your cheeses. Ensure your dough rises in a warm, draft-free environment.
