Ingredients
  

For the Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour All-purpose flour can be substituted with bread flour for a chewier texture.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
For the Topping
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or a mix)
  • to taste Fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Mix well.
  2. Add in the yogurt and warm water, stirring until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover the dough with a cloth or plastic wrap and let it rest for about 30 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. After resting, divide the dough into small balls.
  3. Roll each ball into a flat circle, adjusting thickness according to preference.
  4. Brush one side of the dough with melted butter, sprinkle minced garlic evenly, and top with shredded cheese.
  5. Place the naan cheese-side down on the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the bottom is golden brown, then flip and cook the other side for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  6. Remove from the skillet, garnish with cilantro or parsley, and serve warm.

Notes

Leftover naan can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator or frozen for up to a month. Reheat in a skillet or oven for best results.
