Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Mix well.
- Add in the yogurt and warm water, stirring until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Cover the dough with a cloth or plastic wrap and let it rest for about 30 minutes.
Cooking
- Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat.
- After resting, divide the dough into small balls.
- Roll each ball into a flat circle, adjusting thickness according to preference.
- Brush one side of the dough with melted butter, sprinkle minced garlic evenly, and top with shredded cheese.
- Place the naan cheese-side down on the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the bottom is golden brown, then flip and cook the other side for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Remove from the skillet, garnish with cilantro or parsley, and serve warm.
Notes
Leftover naan can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator or frozen for up to a month. Reheat in a skillet or oven for best results.
