  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella) Choose your favorite cheese.
  • 4 pieces hamburger buns Regular or whole wheat buns can be used.
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce Adjust amount to taste for heat preference.
  • 2 tablespoons butter For spreading on buns.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper For seasoning.
  • to taste Lettuce and tomato slices For garnish.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cheese, hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until evenly combined.
  3. Cut the hamburger buns in half and arrange the bottom halves on a baking sheet. Spread butter on each bun.
  4. Spoon the chicken and cheese mixture generously onto each bottom bun.
  5. Place the top halves of the buns back on and brush with butter.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the tops are golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and top with fresh lettuce and tomato slices before serving.

Notes

You can store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. For longer storage, freeze individually wrapped buns for 1-2 months. Reheat at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes.
