Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cheese, hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until evenly combined.
- Cut the hamburger buns in half and arrange the bottom halves on a baking sheet. Spread butter on each bun.
- Spoon the chicken and cheese mixture generously onto each bottom bun.
- Place the top halves of the buns back on and brush with butter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the tops are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and top with fresh lettuce and tomato slices before serving.
Notes
You can store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. For longer storage, freeze individually wrapped buns for 1-2 months. Reheat at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes.
