Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until the beef is no longer pink and the onions are soft.
Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and mix well. If you’re using corn, add it in at this stage.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Transfer the beef mixture into a greased 9x13 inch casserole dish.
Spread the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the beef mixture.
Finally, layer the frozen tater tots on top, ensuring even coverage.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
Let cool for a few minutes before serving!
