Ingredients

Beef Mixture
  • 1.5 lbs halal ground beef Use halal-certified beef.
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire-style sauce
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1.5 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
Wrap Components
  • 6 large flour tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 2 tbsp dill pickles, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 2 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 1 large tomato, diced
  • 2 tbsp butter For toasting the wraps.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large skillet, heat over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté for about 2 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  2. Add the halal ground beef to the skillet. Season with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, and Worcestershire-style sauce. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon (about 5-7 minutes).
  3. Stir in the tomato paste and mix well. Once everything is combined, allow it to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, then set aside to cool slightly.
  4. While the beef mixture cools, warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave for a few seconds to make them pliable.
Assembly
  1. Lay a tortilla flat and place about 1/4 cup of the beef mixture in the center. Top with shredded cheddar cheese, lettuce, diced tomatoes, and pickles.
  2. Drizzle with mayonnaise, ketchup, and yellow mustard, then fold the sides of the tortilla over the filling and roll it up tightly.
Cooking
  1. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Once melted, place the wraps seam side down in the skillet and toast for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crispy.
  2. Slice the wraps in half diagonally and serve them warm with a side of French fries or your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy your delicious creation!

Notes

Feel free to customize the toppings. For a lighter option, swap out the beef for ground turkey or chicken. Avoid overstuffing the wraps to prevent breaking.
