Ingredients
  

Batter ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Use room temperature butter for easier mixing.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Regular white sugar.
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed Use light or dark brown sugar as preferred.
  • 2 large eggs Room temperature eggs work best.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Use pure vanilla for better flavor.
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour Sifted for better mixing.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda Leavening agent.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Enhances flavor.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Use semi-sweet or dark chocolate.
Decoration ingredients
  • green food coloring Add until desired color is reached.
  • as needed candy eyes For decoration.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
  3. Mix in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is well combined before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix this into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
  6. Add green food coloring until you reach your desired color.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving space for spreading.
Baking
  1. Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers look slightly underbaked.
  2. Remove from the oven and, while still warm, place candy eyes on each cookie for decoration.
  3. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

To keep cookies fresh, store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. They can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
