Ingredients

Wet Ingredients
  • 3 ripe bananas (mashed) Overripe bananas provide the best flavor.
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons brewed espresso or strong coffee Can substitute with strong coffee.
Dry Ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
Additions
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce (plus extra for drizzling on top)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and mashed bananas. Mix in the sugar, beaten egg, vanilla extract, and brewed espresso until well blended.
  3. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir. Gently fold in the flour until just combined—be careful not to overmix!
  4. Drizzle the caramel sauce into the batter, giving it a light swirl for that delightful caramel flavor throughout.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. Drizzle with additional caramel sauce once cooled, if desired.

Notes
