Preparation
- Gather all your ingredients. Peel the pineapple and cut it into rings or wedges, ensuring even thickness for cooking.
Creating Caramel
- In a non-stick skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the brown sugar, stirring until it's fully dissolved.
- Add cinnamon and vanilla extract to the melted sugar and mix well.
Frying
- Carefully place your pineapple slices into the pan. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and slightly crispy.
- While the pineapple is still in the pan, spoon some of the caramel over the top. Let it sizzle for an additional minute.
Serving
- Remove from heat and transfer the caramel fried pineapple to a serving dish. Enjoy it warm, perhaps topped with a sprinkle of nuts or a scoop of vanilla halal ice cream!
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet over low heat or briefly in the microwave. Try adding honey or maple syrup before serving for an extra touch.
