Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 whole Fresh Pineapple, peeled and sliced into rings or wedges Look for a ripe pineapple for the best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar Adjust the sweetness to taste.
  • 4 tablespoons Butter (or dairy-free alternative) Coconut oil or vegan butter can be used for a dairy-free option.
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon Experiment with other spices like nutmeg or ginger.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • to taste as needed Oil for frying (such as vegetable oil or coconut oil)

Method

Preparation
  1. Gather all your ingredients. Peel the pineapple and cut it into rings or wedges, ensuring even thickness for cooking.
Creating Caramel
  1. In a non-stick skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the brown sugar, stirring until it's fully dissolved.
  2. Add cinnamon and vanilla extract to the melted sugar and mix well.
Frying
  1. Carefully place your pineapple slices into the pan. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and slightly crispy.
  2. While the pineapple is still in the pan, spoon some of the caramel over the top. Let it sizzle for an additional minute.
Serving
  1. Remove from heat and transfer the caramel fried pineapple to a serving dish. Enjoy it warm, perhaps topped with a sprinkle of nuts or a scoop of vanilla halal ice cream!
