  • 1 cup Butter, unsalted
  • 2 cups Brown Sugar, packed Brown sugar enhances the flavor.
  • 1/2 cup Corn Syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt Balances the sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract Adds flavor depth.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda Helps create a lighter texture.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Pop the popcorn using an air popper or microwave. Set aside in a large, greased bowl.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt. Stir until the mixture reaches a simmer.
  3. Allow the mixture to boil without stirring for about 4-5 minutes. Be careful not to overcook, as it can burn easily!
  4. Remove from heat and quickly stir in the vanilla extract and baking soda. The mixture will bubble up, so be cautious.
Coating and Cooling
  1. Pour the caramel sauce over the prepared popcorn and mix until evenly coated.
  2. Spread the mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Allow it to cool completely, which should take about 30 minutes.
  3. Once cooled, break into pieces and serve your Caramel Corn. Store any leftovers in an airtight container to keep it fresh!

Notes

Ensure the caramel doesn't burn by watching it closely during the boiling stage. Adding nuts or chocolate can enhance the flavor.
