Method
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to get it nice and hot while you prep your ingredients.
- Prepare your baking dish: Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with non-stick spray or a little oil to prevent sticking.
- Crack open the cinnamon rolls: If you’re using refrigerated cinnamon rolls, carefully unroll them and separate them into individual rolls. Cut each roll into quarters.
Layering
- Spread half of the chopped cinnamon rolls evenly across the bottom of your baking dish.
- In a bowl, combine your sliced apples, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and nuts (if using). Toss until the apples are coated evenly.
- Pour half of the caramel sauce over the apples, then layer them on top of the first layer of cinnamon rolls in the baking dish.
- Top with the remaining pieces of cinnamon rolls, followed by the rest of the apple mixture. Drizzle with the remaining caramel sauce to finish.
Baking
- Place your baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes or until the cinnamon rolls are golden and puffed.
- Allow it to cool slightly, then serve warm with a generous dollop of whipped cream for that extra creamy touch!
Notes
For the best results, allow the dish to set for a few minutes after baking. If desired, add dried fruits like raisins or cranberries for additional sweetness and texture. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
