Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound fresh jalapeños, sliced into rings Wear gloves to avoid spicy residue.
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Method

Preparation
  1. Wash the jalapeños and slice them into rings.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, apple cider vinegar, and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar completely.
  3. Carefully add the jalapeño rings into the boiling syrup.
  4. Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Cook for about 5 minutes until the jalapeños soften.
  5. Remove the pan from the heat and allow the jalapeños to cool in the syrup for at least an hour.
  6. Transfer the jalapeños along with the syrup to a clean jar, seal it tightly, and refrigerate.
  7. For best flavor, let them sit for at least 24 hours before serving.

Notes

Control the spice level by adjusting the amount of jalapeños used. Consider adding whole spices like cumin for deeper flavor.
